Shrewley Pools is a working family farm that offers high quality accommodation for those who long for peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. The house dates from 1640 and is largely original with exposed beams, beautiful quarry tiled or oak floors and leaded windows. All rooms have views over the garden, lake and surrounding fields. There are fire places in the hall, dining and sitting rooms.
The Family Room has both king size and single beds which sleeps 5 in comfort with a baby in the cot. It has its own lovely en suite bathroom with high quality towels and toiletries.
Along the polished oak passageway to the twin room. This exquisite room has 2 single beds, a tiny dressing room where a child can sleep on a single bed, whilst giving the grown ups privacy for a good nights sleep. A large comfortable bathroom also lies behind it's own front door.
The pigs may be glimpsed in the wood whilst ducks and geese fly into the large lake stocked with carp, tench, silvery bream and roach.
The large, comfortable sitting room has lovely family furniture as well as easy sofa and arm chairs, pulled around the roaring fire. Play games, do jigsaws, or read a book with a glass of wine to relax at the end of the day!
The dining room is glorious with clotted cream walls and thick raspberry curtains. An early oak dresser and corner cupboard contain crystal glasses and china whilst a fire burns in the hearth.
Come and sit in the hall, the oldest room in the house and admire the wonderful oak beams and polished quarry tiled floors with Persian rugs. Throw a log on the fire and chat with friends.
Enjoy a farmhouse breakfast, including our own eggs, bacon and sausages or keep it light with yogurt and home made spiced fruit compote! We also do evening meals, children's teas and "pot luck" dinner (you have what we're having!). We use our own bacon, sausages, eggs, pork, lamb, pheasant, pigeon, duck and chicken according to season.
Finally, we have plenty of off road secure parking space for cars, lorries, trailers etc.
"Delightful decor, delicious sleep. We like the whole style of the house and admire the timber work and square tiled floor. A most welcoming ambience about the place especially from Mrs Dodd. The garden a real delight and a proper working garden at that!" Jack Edwards, April 2009
Thank you for a wonderful visit. It wasn't peaceful at all (unlike other guests experiences). After all, what can be more exciting an adventure than finding 19 ducklings and a fresh birds egg? Thanks for everything - teddy on the blanket, high tea, baby sitting - to make the perfect break for babies and parents too.

Benjamin, 5 years old, really enjoyed the visit here. Nice people talking and listening to him, even though he only speaks Swedish. A lovely garden, lots of animals, and a lake full of fish - could it be better? Thank you so much for your hospitality.
